NORTHFIELD, Minn. - UW-Stevens Point tallied two first half goals and three third period goals as the Pointers avenged a season-opening tie and defeated the Oles of St. Olaf 5-0 in women's hockey action on Tuesday evening.

Trish Piskula (Antigo/Antigo) (Antigo) and Kellye Nelson (Lino Lakes, MN/Centennial) (Lino Lakes, Minn.) each tallied goals in the game's opening period, giving the Pointers the early edge.

After a scoreless second, UW-Stevens Point tallied three more goals, this time from Jessica Edward (Sherrard, IL/Shattuck St. Mary's (MN)) (Sherrard, Ill.), her first of the season, another goal from Nelson, and the season's first from Rachel Graves (Bemidji, Minn.) to seal the 5-0 non-conference victory.

On the night, Edward and Nelson each tallied three points while Dana Carothers (Burnsville, MN/Burnsville) (Burnsville, Minn.) added two in the Pointer victory. d'Andra Phillips (Swartz Creek, MI/Swartz Creek) (Swartz Creek, Mich.) tallied 25 saves in goal
