HANOVER, Ind. - The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point men's cross country team captured the team title at the 2008 Madison Kiwanis Cross Country Invitational. The annual races were held Saturday, Sept. 6, at the L.S. Ayres Athletic Complex.
Stevens Point's
Nick Schafer (New London/New London) placed second overall and senior Dom Meyer (Beloit/Memorial) was third to key the Pointers' 40-point effort in the meet. Schafer posted a time of 26:06.93 on the eight-kilometer course. Meyer finished in 26:12.73.
Huntington University's Nicholas Johnson was the first of the 156 runners in the field to cross the line. Johnson toured the course in 25:55.28.

UW-Stevens Point returns to action next weekend when they host the UW-Stevens Point Alumni Open at Iverson Park.
