STEVENS POINT – Jessica Urban (Hartland/Arrowhead) (Hartland) shot a two-day total 154 and Nacheynah Green (Poynette/) (Poynette) shot a two-day 155 but it was Danelle Olson (Detroit Lakes, MN/Detroit Lakes)'s (Detroit Lakes, Minn.) two-day total of 169 that gave the Pointers their third invitational championship this season in women's golf action at the Stevens Point Country Club.

The Pointers, who were in second place going into Sunday's final round, used Olson's two-day total of 169 to break the tie between UWSP and St. Thomas, giving the Pointers the championship.

Urban's two-day total was good for a second place finish while Green's 155 placed here third. Michelle Pascavis (Waukesha/South) (Waukesha) and Amanda Dlupopolski (Appleton) finished tied for eighth and 10th respectively.

UW-Whitewater finished in third with a 670 while Carleton, UW-Stout, UW-Platteville, Ripon and Carroll University finished fourth through eighth respectively.

UW-Stevens Point wraps up their fall season next weekend, Oct. 3-5 at the WIAC Championships in Arkdale, Wis. UWSP is the defending WIAC Champion.

The winner of the WIAC Championship receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championships, held in May.
