MEQUON - The UW-Stevens Point men's cross country continued their winning ways on Saturday, dominating the field at the Concordia (Wis.) Invitational, capturing seven of the top eight spots on their way to a first place finish, 51 points ahead of the second place team.
The Pointers captured all but one of the top ten finishes on the day and the entire team finished 62nd or better in a field of 153 runners.
Cory Towle (Waukesha/South) (Waukesha) finished as the top runner of the day with a time of 25:58.06 while
Phil Richert (Andover, MN/Andover) (Andover, Minn.), Dereck Nechuta (Mosinee),
Jason Lisowe (Chilton/Chilton) (Chilton), Nick Shafer (New London),
Travis Nechuta (Mosinee/Mosinee) (Mosinee) and
George Carlson (Nekoosa/Nekoosa) (Nekoosa) finished third through eighth.
The Pointers return to action on Sept. 27 when they participate in the Beloit College Invitational.
