Jennifer Rueter (Burlington/Burlington) (Burlington) tallied 23 digs on the night and
Amanda Mix (Brookfield/East) (Brookfield/East) added seven service aces as the Pointers rolled past Carroll University and Edgewood College, sweeping both games 3-0 in non-conference action Wednesday evening.
In the Pointers first game of the night, Rueter tallied 13 kills and
Jasmine Johnson (Appleton/East) (Appleton/East) added 10 as the pointers rolled past Carroll 25-21, 25-19, 25-17.
Kayla Behnke (Newton/Manitowoc Lincoln)(Newton/Manitowoc Lincoln) led the team with 16 digs while
Chantel York (Lake Geneva/Badger) (Lake Geneva/Badger) tallied 29 assists in the victory.
In game two against Edgewood, Rueter added 10 kills in 21 swings, hitting .286 en route to leading the Pointers to 25-15, 27-25 and 25-17 victories over the Eagles. Pamela Nora (Forest Lake, Minn.) added nine kills and hit .818 (9-0-11) while adding four block assists. York tallied 30 assists and Mix led the team with 10 digs and six service aces in the win.
The two wins bring UWSP's overall record to 4-5. The Pointers travel to Menomonie to play in the UW-Stout tournament on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 12 & 13.
