Box Score SAN ANTONIO - UWSP's Amanda Prawat (Oregon/Oregon) (Sr., Oregon) tallied her first goal of the season at 103:42 in the second overtime to lift the Pointers to their first win of the 2008 season, 1-0 over Hardin-Simmons.
The No. 20 ranked Pointers capitalized on a defensive lapse by the Cowgirls, as Prawat found the back of the net on an empty goal situation, giving the Pointers the victory.
Both team had several chances late in regulation with corner kicks, but both defense were up to the task to send the game to overtime.
Each team had chances to score in the overtime periods, but both goalkeepers made saves to send the game into the 103rd minute. UWSP outshot the 18th ranked Cowgirls 18-12 in the game and had 12 corners to the Cowgirls five.
Pam Luckow (Kaukauna/Kaukauna) (Sr., Kaukauna) had seven saves for UWSP and Christi Carr had eight saves for the Cowgirls in goal.
The Pointers (1-1) will next host Gustavus Adolphus on Friday, Sept. 5 at the newly renovated Soccer Bowl in Stevens Point. Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m.
