WAVERLY, Iowa – The UW-Stevens Point golf team had its best round of the tournament thus far after a round three score of 318 (+30) today at the 2008 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships at Centennial Oaks Golf Club.

The Pointers have an overall total of 985 (+121) and are in 12th place. Methodist University looks to be on its way to its 11th consecutive championship with an overall score of 915 (+51). Southwestern University is in second with a score of 942 (+78). In third place is DePauw University with a score of 945 (+81).

Sarah Mosher (Evansville/Evansville) (Sr.-Evansville) had the best round of the day as she posted a score of 78 (+6). She was 11 shots better than she was yesterday. Mosher is currently in 64th place. Also improving by 11 shots was Katie Kautz (Des Plaines, Ill./St. Viator) (Sr.-Des Plaines, IL/St. Viator), who had a round of 80 (+8) today, to move up to 97th place.

Jessica Urban (Hartland/Arrowhead) (So.-Hartland/Arrowhead) began the day in fourth place overall and shot a third round 80 (+8) to drop to 11th place. Michelle Pascavis (Waukesha/South) (Fr.-Waukesha/South) also shot an 80 (+8) today and is in 48th place. Amanda Dlugopolski (Appleton/East) (Jr.-Appleton/East) continues to cut down her strokes each round as posted a score of 86 (+14) and is in 98th place.

The final round of the 2008 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships will begin at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow. The Pointers will begin on the front nine beginning at 8:20 a.m.
