UW-Oshkosh Results
STEVENS POINT – The UW-Stevens Point women's track and field team finished up competition at the Drake Relays today and also had part of the team compete at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Andrea Irvine (Green Bay/Bay Port) (Sr.-Green Bay/Bay Port), Angela Steffens (Cottage Grove/Madison LaFollette) (Sr.-Cottage Grove/Madison LaFollette), Kathleen Folbrecht (Jefferson/Jefferson) (So.-Jefferson), and Laura Simonis (Rosholt/Rosholt) (Jr.-Rosholt) ran a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 3:54.16 seconds, its fastest time of the season, to finish eighth in the event. The 1,600 sprint medley team of Laura Simonis (Rosholt/Rosholt), Liz Caine (Jr.-Plover/SPASH), Kathleen Folbrecht (Jefferson/Jefferson), and Angela Steffens (Cottage Grove/Madison LaFollette) finished third with a time of 4:04.33 seconds.
The Pointers also competed at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational today finishing seventh out of nine teams. Sara Kline (Casco/Luxemberg-Casco) (So.-Casco/Luxemburg-Casco) finished third in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 16.24 seconds. Also finishing third was Alix Jicinsky (Stratford/Stratford) (Fr.-Stratford) in the high jump, clearing a height of 5'-3.25”. Angela Sheridan (Dubuque, IA/Wahlert) (Jr.-Dubuque, IA/Wahlert) placed fourth in the shot put, throwing a distance of 39'-1”.
The Pointers will take part in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships next Friday and Saturday in Eau Claire. Events begin at noon on Friday.
