In game one, the Pioneers manufactured a run on two singles in the first inning to take an early 1-0 lead. Stevens Point tied it up in the second inning when with two outs the Pioneers committed an error to allow Jared Surman (Kimberly/Kimberly) (Fr.-Kimberly) to score. The Pointers took the lead after a five-run third inning. With two outs and the bases loaded Garett Bloom (Tomah/Tomah) (Jr.-Tomah) ripped a bases-clearing double over the left fielder's head to make the score 4-1. Stewart Larsen (Sturgeon Bay/Sturgeon Bay) (Sr.-Sturgeon Bay) then drove in Bloom with a RBI single and later scored following an error to give the Pointers a 6-1 lead.
Platteville got two runs back in the top of the fourth with a two-run single. Another two-out double by Brad Frank (Slinger/Slinger) (Sr.-Slinger) made the score 7-3 after five innings. The Pioneers cut the lead to three in the top of the seventh with a leadoff home run. They then brought the tying run to the plate, but Tyler Lorenz (Pembine/Pembine-Goodman) (So.-Pembine/Pembine-Goodman) got the batter to ground out to end the threat.
In the bottom frame, Doug Coe (Appleton/North) (Sr.-Appleton/North) got an infield single with the bases loaded to get a run in and then Jared Surman (Kimberly/Kimberly) drew a walk to make the score 9-4. Brandon Scheidler (Chippewa Falls/McDonell) (Sr.-Chippewa Falls/McDonell) then had a two-run single to extend the lead to 11-4. With the bases loaded again in the eighth, Kyle Cummings (Prentice/Prentice) (Jr.-Prentice) was hit by a pitch to force in a run and Jared Surman (Kimberly/Kimberly) hit a double down the right field line to allow two to score and end the game 14-4 in eight innings.

Tyler Lorenz (Pembine/Pembine-Goodman) got the save for the Pointers. Brandon Scheidler (Chippewa Falls/McDonell) was 3-for-4 with two RBIs to lead Stevens Point at the plate.
Stevens Point loaded the bases again in the bottom of the first of game two. Brad Frank (Slinger/Slinger) scored on a groundout and then Justin Bushong (Rhinelander/Rhinelander) (Sr.-Rhinelander) followed with a two-run double to left center to make the score 3-0. After a Platteville error prolonged the bottom of the third, Stewart Larsen (Sturgeon Bay/Sturgeon Bay) hit a triple that scored two runs. Then an infield single allowed Larsen to score to make it 6-0.
Another Pioneer error in the fourth gave the Pointers life and Larsen again hit a two-run single to make it 8-0. A bases loaded walk and a sacrifice fly in the fifth gave Stevens Point a 10-0 lead. Platteville would not give up however as they got five runs in the top of the sixth to cut the lead in half 10-5. The Pioneers cut the lead to 10-6 in the top of the seventh.
The Pointers broke the Pioneers momentum in the eighth with a RBI single by Tim Schlosser (Oconomowoc/Oconomowoc) (Sr.-Oconomowoc) to make it 11-6. The Pioneers got a run in the ninth, but that's all they would get as the Pointers won 11-7.
Mitch Kouba (Maribel/Denmark) (Fr.-Maribel/Denmark) (2-1) got the win in relief for the Pointers. Jared Surman (Kimberly/Kimberly) and Tim Schlosser (Oconomowoc/Oconomowoc) each had three-hit performances and Stewart Larsen (Sturgeon Bay/Sturgeon Bay) was 2-for-3 with four RBIs. Schlosser also broke the school record by appearing in his 172nd game for the Pointers.
