NORMAL, Ill. – The fourth-ranked UW-Stevens Point golf team finished ninth out of 16 teams today at the Illinois Wesleyan Spring Fling at Ironwood Golf Club.

The Pointers were 11 shots better on day two to finish with a total score of 671 (+95). Illinois Wesleyan won the event with a score of 638 (+62). DePauw University finished just one shot back to take second with a 639 (+96).

Michelle Pascavis (Waukesha/South) (Fr.-Waukesha/South) led the way for the Pointers after identical rounds of 82 (+10) to finish with a 164 (+20) and 21st overall. Amanda Dlugopolski (Appleton/East) (Jr.-Appleton/East) finished with a score 169 (+25) to place tied for 38th. Sarah Mosher (Evansville/Evansville) (Sr.-Evansville) was two shots behind her with a 170 (+26). Katie Kautz (Des Plaines, Ill./St. Viator) (Sr.-Des Plaines, IL/St. Viator) shot a 173 (+29) and Emily Fraser (New Lenox, Ill/New Lenox) (So.-New Lenox, IL) posted a score of 201 (+57).

The Pointers will compete at the Blugold Spring Invitational in Eau Claire next weekend.
