NEENAH – The fourth-ranked UW-Stevens Point golf team captured four of the top six individual spots, including freshman Michelle Pascavis (Waukesha/South) (Fr.-Waukesha/South) taking Medalist honors as the Pointers won the UW-Oshkosh Spring Invitational today at Westridge Golf Club.
The Pointers won with a score of 336 beating second place UW-Whitewater by 30 strokes. Stevens Point has won the last four events at Westridge. UW-Oshkosh and UW-Superior tied for third with a score of 381.
Michelle Pascavis (Waukesha/South), who won at Westridge in fall, repeated the feat today after shooting a 79 (+6). It's the third time Pascavis has claimed Medalist honors after winning two events in the fall. She beat out teammate Sarah Mosher (Evansville/Evansville) (Sr.-Evansville) who shot an 81 (+8). Pascavis had the best front nine of the day with a 39, while Mosher had the best back nine with a 39.
Finishing fourth was Amanda Dlugopolski (Appleton/East) (Jr.-Appleton/East) who posted an 86 (+13). Katie Kautz (Des Plaines, Ill./St. Viator) (Sr.-Des Plaines, IL/St. Viator) tied for fifth after shooting a 90 (+17).
The Pointers will be action again the next two days when they compete in the Illinois Wesleyan Spring Fling.
