The Pointers played Augsburg College Friday afternoon. The closest of the four games would be the season opener against the Auggies as Stevens Point prevailed 1-0. The Pointers scored the lone run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning when Samantha Bizeau (Gladstone, MI/Gladstone) (Fr.-Gladstone, MI) singled to left plating Sarah Butts (Greenfield/Greenfield) (Fr.-Greenfield). Hope Krause (Mishicot/Mishicot) (Sr.-Mishicot) went the distance on the mound, striking out four to get the complete game victory. The Auggies left nine runners on base and were just 2-for-14 with runners in scoring position.
In game two versus Augsburg, Stevens Point used a three-run second inning on its way to a 6-4 win. In the top of the second, Danielle Ashbeck (Wabeno/Wabeno) (Sr.-Wabeno) doubled to left field. Bizeau then followed that with a triple to right, scoring Ashbeck. After the double and the triple, Elyse Nelson (Batavia, IL/Batavia) (Fr.-Batavia, IL) hit the first home run of the season for the Pointers with a two-run blast to make the score 3-0.
With runners at second and third in the top of the fourth, Laura Van Abel (Kaukauna/Kaukauna) (Sr.-Kaukauna) reached on a fielder's choice to score Nelson from third and make the score 4-0. The Auggies scored two more runs in the bottom of the sixth and had the bases loaded with one out, but the Pointers got a force out at home and a groundout to get out the inning. Augsburg didn't threaten in the seventh as the Pointers won 6-4.

On Saturday against Concordia-Moorhead, neither game of the doubleheader would go the regulation seven innings as the Pointers won game one 18-0 in five innings and game two 10-0 in five innings.
It was all about the 10-run third inning in game one against the Cobbers. Samantha Bizeau (Gladstone, MI/Gladstone) drove in two in the top of the first to give the Pointers a 2-0 lead. Then in the third, Korryn Brooks (Stevens Point/SPASH) doubled to leadoff the inning. Two batters later Bizeau hit an infield single that plated Brooks.
