NCAA Championships Web site

OXFORD, Ohio – UW-Stevens Point women's swimmer Abby Strobel (Jr.-Neenah) competed today in the 200-yard backstroke at the NCAA Division III Women's Swimming and Diving Championships.

Strobel swam a time of 2:09.50 seconds in the preliminaries, which was not good enough to qualify her for the finals. Strobel broke a conference, a pool, and a school record at the WIAC Championships to qualify for nationals. Strobel finished 12th in the 200-yard backstroke at the NCAA Championships last year.

Kenyon College won its 22nd national championship finishing with 566.5 points. UW-La Crosse was 13th with 75 points.

The NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships will take place next weekend at Miami University's Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center. The Pointers will have four swimmers competing next week.
