PLATTEVILLE – The 25th-ranked UW-Stevens Point women's track team competed today at the Nike/Impact Sports UW-Platteville Invitational in Williams Fieldhouse.

No team scores were kept at the event. The lone winner for the Pointers was Liz Caine (Jr.-Plover/SPASH), who took the 55-meter dash in a time of 7.39 seconds. Andrea Irvine (Green Bay/Bay Port) (Sr.-Green Bay/Bay Port) finished second in both the 400-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. Irvine finished the 400-meter in a time of 59.11 seconds. She posted a time of 26.50 seconds in the 200-meter dash. Also placing second today was Angela Steffens (Cottage Grove/Madison LaFollette) (Sr.-Cottage Grove/LaFollette) in the 800-meter run. Steffens finished the event in a time of 2:20.51.

The Pointers will be back in the Multi-Activity Center next week when they host the Pointer Invitational on Saturday. The meet begins at 10:30 a.m.
