Krull and Evan Sweeny (Appleton) tallied buckets to cut the deficit to three when Khalifa El-Amin (Milwaukee/Rufus King) (Milwaukee), fresh off a career-high performance the night before, connected on a three of his own to tie the game at 49, the 13th tie of the contest.

After trading baskets down the stretch, UWSP clung to a four point lead as Rortvedt connected from downtown to give the Pointers a 57-53 edge with 3:39 remaining. Not to go quietly, Trinity closed out the half on a 6-3 run to force overtime, 59-59.

In the extra period, Trinity jumped ahead to an early four-point lead, but UW-Stevens Point got buckets from Bryan Beamish (Wisconsin Rapids/Lincoln) (Wisconsin Rapids), Moses and Krull to build a three point edge, 67-64. Trinity responded by tying the game, the 18th tie of the contest, but Moses connected on a jumper in the land with :26 remaining and the Pointer defense held off the Tigers for the one point victory.

For the Pointers, Moses finished with a career-high 26 points on 9-of-17 shooting including a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line and added seven rebounds and three steals in the victory. Rortvedt added 17 points and nine rebounds in the win.
