LAKE FOREST, Ill. - UW-Stevens Point scored six goals on Saturday evening and needed every one as the Pointers defeated the Foresters of Lake Forest College 6-5 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association men's hockey action.

The Pointers jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first period on goals by Jon Madden (Brighton, MI/Howell) (Brighton, MI) and Travis Erstad (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) (Stevens Point).
Lake Forest tied the game at 2-2 in the second period, but the Pointers took the lead back with Korey O'Brien (Southgate, MI/Anderson) (Southgate, MI) found the back of the net.

After another Lake Forest goal early in the third period to tie the game at three a piece, the Pointers scored three straight goals by Madden, Erstad, and Russell Law (Bay City, MI/Shattuck (MN)) (Bay City, MI) to take a 6-3 lead with 2:58 remaining in the game.

Lake Forest added two quick goals in the final minute to cut the deficit to one at 6-5, but it wasn't enough as the Pointers held on for the victory.
