STEVENS POINT – Kaylee Weise (Brookfield/East) (Brookfield) notched her fourth hat-trick of the season and second of the week on Saturday afternoon, as the Pointers kept their shutout of Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponents intact, defeating the Pioneers of UW-Platteville 6-0.

So far this season, the Pointers have outscored their WIAC opponents 22-0 in four games.

Weise put the Pointer on the board 14 minutes in, scoring off an Emily Walsh (Waunakee/Waunakee) (Waunakee) pass to give the Pointers the early lead. Twenty minutes later, in the 34th minute, Walsh again connected with Weise, beating UWP goalkeeper Hannah Krier, giving the Pointers a 2-0 advantage.

Not wanting to be left out, Jennisa Koch (Waupaca/Waupaca) (Waupaca) added one more goal for the Pointers before halftime, finding the back of the net off a Mary Jean Cornelius (West Bend/West) (West Bend) pass with just under three minutes remaining in the half, giving UWSP the 3-0 halftime edge.

In the second half, it was again all Pointers, as the offense controlled the ball for the majority of the half, registering 17 shots, as Amanda Prawat (Oregon/Oregon) (Oregon) added two goals of her own off passes from Weise, Katie Waterman (Oregon/Oregon) (Oregon) and Cornelius while Weise added her third goal of the game, giving her the sixth hat-trick of her career and the Pointers the 6-0 shutout victory.
