ARKDALE, Wis. - The UW-Stevens Point women's golf team shot an opening-round 341 and sit 12 strokes back of day one leader UW-Eau Claire at the 2008 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships in Arkdale, Wis.

Leading the way for the Pointers was Michelle Pascavis (Waukesha/South) (Waukesha) who fired an 83 (+11) on the first day, good for seventh. Jessica Urban (Hartland/Arrowhead) (Hartland) and Nacheynah Green (Poynette/) (Poynette) sit tied at ninth, both shooting an opening round 85.

Danelle Olson (Detroit Lakes, MN/Detroit Lakes) (Detroit Lakes, Minn.) currently sits tied for 16th and Amanda Dlugopolski (Appleton/East) (Appleton) is tied for 20th.
