Men's Cross Country Races to Fourth Place Finish at Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Dom Meyer (Beloit) finished in sixth place with a time of 25:05 to pace the UW-Stevens Point men's cross country team, leading them to a third place showing at the 2008 Notre Dame Cross Country Invitational Friday afternoon.

The No. 4 ranked Pointers finished 32 points behind top finishing North Central College and 21 points back of NCAA Division II member Grand Valley State.

Elsewhere for UWSP, Phil Richert (Andover, MN/Andover) (Andover, Minn.) finished 21st with a time of 25:27, Cory Towle (Waukesha/South) (Waukesha) and Nick Schaefer (New London) finished 29th and 30th with identical times of 25:42 and Jason Lisowe (Chilton/Chilton) (Chilton) finished 39th with a time of 25:53 to round out the scoring.

Stevens Point returns to action next weekend when they travel to Ripon for the Ripon Invitational.
