STEVENS POINT - The Pointers brought a well-balanced scoring attack to K.B. Willit arena Saturday night en route to a 10-0 victory in their first game of the season against the Lumberjacks.

The season's first goal was scored by Matt Stendahl (Forest Lake, MN/Forest Lake) (Forest Lake, MN) 10:10 into the game on a pass from Creighton Scarpone (Buchanan, MI/Pendleton) (Buchanan, MI). The Pointers also got first period goals from Garrett Suter (Madison/Oregon) (Madison, WI) and Jon Madden (Brighton, MI/Howell) (Brighton, MI).

The Pointers continued to dominate in the second period. Suter scored his second goal on assists from Jonathan Ralph (Chester, NJ/Shattuck St. Mary's) (Chester, NJ) and Russell Law (Bay City, MI/Shattuck (MN)) (Bay City, MI). Sean Fish (Ramsey, MN/Anoka) (Ramsey, MN) also punched in a second period goal for the Pointers.

The Pointers added five more goals in the third period. Brett Beckfeld (Plymouth, MN/Armstrong) (Plymouth, MN), Law, Korey O'Brien (Southgate, MI/Anderson) (Southgate, MI), Madden, and Luke Nesper (Eagle River, WI/Northland Pines) (Eagle River, WI) all tallied third period goals for the Pointers in the victory.

The Pointers out shot the Lumberjacks 112-20.

The Pointers return to action on Friday, Oct. 31 at Concordia (MN) at 7 p.m.
