Pointers Roll Past Oshkosh 9-0

OSHKOSH – Amanda Prawat (Oregon/Oregon) (Oregon), the reigning WIAC Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week, tallied a season-high four goals as the Pointers posted their largest margin of victory in just over a year, defeating the Titans of UW-Oshkosh 9-0 in WIAC women's soccer action Wednesday evening.

The nine goals were the most allowed by UW-Oshkosh in 295 matches.

Emily Walsh (Waunakee/Waunakee) (Waunakee) put the UWSP on the board early, scoring off a pass from Prawat and Kaylee Weise (Brookfield/East) (Brookfield) just 13 minutes in to give the Pointers the 1-0 advantage. Walsh added one more goal, her fourth of the season, just before the half, giving the Pointers a 2-0 advantage after the first stanza.

In the second half, it was all Pointers, as Prawat scored four goals and Vicki Bieschke (Oconomowoc/Waukesha Memorial) (Oconomowoc) Weise and Jackie Spees (Wisconsin Rapids/Lincoln) (Wisconsin Rapids) each added goals of their own to give the Pointers the 9-0 win.

Pam Luckow (Kaukauna/Kaukauna) (Kaukauna) tallied her seventh shutout of the season in goal for the Pointers, recording three saves.

The No. 10 ranked Pointers (12-2, 6-0 WIAC) return to action on Saturday, Oct. 18 when they travel to UW-Superior for a 2 p.m. matchup with the Yellowjackets.
