WHITEWATER - The UW-Stevens Point women's volleyball team fell to No. 14 ranked UW-Whitewater on Wednesday afternoon in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action in Whitewater.
UWSP (12-17, 1-5 WIAC) kept the first set close with the 2007 NCAA Division III runners-up, but eventually fell 25-21. Sets two and three were all Warhawks as they won by scores of 25-13 and 25-19.
For the Pointers,
Pam Nora (Forest Lake, Minn./) (Forest Lake, Minn.) led the way with a team-high seven kills and added five block assists in the loss.
Amanda Mix (Brookfield/East) (Brookfield) registered 18 digs wile
Chantel York (Lake Geneva/Badger) (Lake Geneva) added 20 assists.
Jasmine Johnson (Appleton/East) (Appleton) and
Michaela Rheineck (St. Paul, MN/Mounds View) (St. Paul, Minn.) each added five and four kills respectively.
For Whitewater, three players each tallied seven kills, Christina DeGroot had 33 assists and 11 digs while Alyssa Bauer added 18 digs.
The Pointers return to action on Friday, Oct. 17 when they travel to UW-Eau Claire 7 p.m. match-up with the Blugold.
