STEVENS POINT - Kaylee Weise (Brookfield/East) (Brookfield) and Amanda Prawat (Oregon/Oregon) (Oregon) each recorded hat tricks as UW-Stevens Point defeated UW-La Crosse in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup Wednesday afternoon.

Prawat opened the scoring for the Pointers by taking a pass from Emily Walsh (Waunakee/Waunakee) (Waunakee) and knocking it in 10:30 into the game. The rest of the first half was a defensive struggle, as the Pointers went into halftime clinging to a 1-0 lead.

The Pointers took over in the second half. Prawat punched in her second goal of the game 3:40 into the half thanks to passes by Jackie Spees (Wisconsin Rapids/Lincoln) (Wisconsin Rapids) and Weise. Kaylee Weise (Brookfield/East) then joined the scoring with her first goal just 1:10 later on passes from Spees and Vicki Bieschke (Oconomowoc/Waukesha Memorial) (Oconomowoc).

Prawat completed her sixth career hat trick and second of the season with an unassisted goal at the 58:25 mark. Jennisa Koch (Waupaca/Waupaca) (Waupaca) tallied a goal of her own after an assist from Weise with 2:10 left in the match.  The final score came when Weise banged home a penalty kick with 1:18 remaining in the game, her third hat trick of the season and fifth of her career.
