Pam Nora (Forest Lake, Minn./) opened the match by serving nine straight points as UW-Stevens Point cruised to a three-game win over Blackburn to split a pair of matches at Friday's Illinois Wesleyan Invitational in Bloomington, Ill.

The Pointers beat the Beavers 30-16, 30-9, 30-14 after dropping their opening match to third-ranked UW-Whitewater 30-19, 30-23, 30-22. UW-Stevens Point is now 4-4 overall and plays two more matches on Saturday.

Shelly Maus (Green Bay/Green Bay Southwest) had 14 kills and seven blocks in the win over Blackburn. Gina Guell (Waupun/Waupun) added 10 kills and Jill Wittmann (Kewaskum/Kewaskum) had 33 assists.

Beth Richter (Green Bay/Preble) totaled eight kills and six digs against UW-Whitewater, while Maus finished with seven kills and six digs. Amanda Mix (Brookfield/East) led the defense with 12 digs.
