A balanced team effort helped the UW-Stevens Point women's golf team place second among 19 teams at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. The Pointers had their top four players shoot within four strokes of each other over the two days.
UW-Stevens Point, which is ranked ninth in the NCAA Division III, finished nine strokes behind fifth-ranked St. Thomas with a 665 team score. The Pointers beat third-ranked Gustavus Adolphus by two strokes and finished 33 strokes ahead of sixth-ranked UW-Eau Claire.
Freshman
Michelle Pascavis (Waukesha/South) led the balanced scoring with an 83 on Saturday and an 82 on Sunday for a 165 that placed 10th overall.
Jessica Urban (Hartland/Arrowhead) had a 79 the opening day and an 88 on Sunday, while
Katie Kautz (Des Plaines, Ill./St. Viator) fired an 86 on Saturday and 81 on Sunday as both tied for 14th place with a 167.
Amy Stiloski (Brookfield/Central) added a 169 with an 83 on the first day and an 86 on the second day.
