Pascavis Claims Medalist Honors as Golfers Roll to Big Win

Michelle Pascavis (Waukesha/South) captured individual medalist honors and the UW-Stevens Point women's golf team rolled to a 29-stroke victory at its own invitational on Sunday at the Stevens Point Country Club.

Pascavis sank a six-foot par putt on the 18th hole to secure a one-stroke win over UW-Whitewater's Emily Kuiper. The UW-Stevens Point freshman shot a second-day 78 after a 75 on Saturday to finish with a two-day total of 153.

The Pointers had five of the top 10 individual finishers in the nine-team meet, which included all eight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schools. Jessica Urban (Hartland/Arrowhead) shot an 81 on Sunday and an 80 on Saturday to place third with a 161. Amy Stiloski (Brookfield/Central) was seventh overall with a 163 total after shooting 81 on Sunday and 82 on Saturday. Sarah Mosher (Evansville/Evansville) was eighth with a 164, carding 84 on Sunday and 80 on the opening. Katie Kautz (Des Plaines, Ill./St. Viator) bettered her first-day score by two strokes with an 84 on Sunday to place 10th with a 170.

UW-Stevens Point totaled a 641 team score with a 317 on Saturday and a 324 on the second day. UW-Whitewater was second with a 670.

The meet was the final tune-up for the WIAC championships, which will be held on October 6-7 at Winwood Golf Course in Watertown.
