Pointers Pull Out Another 1-0 Victory at Platteville

UW-Stevens Point used another strong performance from its defense as the Pointers won their third straight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer match by a 1-0 score over UW-Platteville Saturday afternoon in Platteville.

Kaylee Weise (Brookfield/East) scored unassisted with 7:09 remaining from 15 yards out to help the Pointers improve to 7-2-1 overall and 3-0-0 in the league. It marked the Pointers' sixth shutout of the season and fifth straight victory.

UW-Stevens Point's defense shut down UW-Platteville as the Pointers outshot the Pioneers 22-5, including a 12-0 advantage in the second half. Meredith DeCaluwe (Naperville, IL/Central) saved the Pioneers' only attempt on goal.

The Pointers avenged last year's 1-1 tie as they lead the all-time series between the two schools 21-0-1.
