Meyer Leads Pointers to Ninth at Notre Dame

Senior Dominick Meyer (Beloit/Memorial) placed 15th overall to lead the UW-Stevens Point men's cross country team to a ninth place finish among 25 teams in a primarily Division I field at Friday's Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind.

Meyer posted a time of 25:23 as the Pointers totaled 200 team points. Division II Grand Valley State (Mich.) won the team title with 93 points.

Travis Nechuta (Mosinee/Mosinee) finished 22nd overall for UW-Stevens Point in a time of 25:30, while Phil Richert (Andover, MN/Andover) was 37th in 25:43. George Carlson (Nekoosa/Nekoosa) was 63rd in 26:14 and Cory Towle (Waukesha/South) was two seconds behind to finish 65th overall.
