Pointers Shoot Record-Low Team Score to Capture UW-Whitewater Golf Invite

It was a record-setting day for the UW-Stevens Point women's golf team as the Pointers overcame a six-stroke deficit by shooting a school-record low round of 312 on the second day of the UW-Whitewater Invitational to capture the team title.

Jessica Urban (Hartland/Arrowhead) won the individual title by shooting a 74 on the second day. Urban entered the day in second place after shooting a 77 on Saturday and finished with a two-day total of 151 for a three-stroke victory.

Michelle Pascavis (Waukesha/South) was third overall with a two-day score of 155 after shooting a 79 on Saturday and a 76 on Sunday. Sarah Mosher (Evansville/Evansville) placed 10th overall with a 165, including an 80 on the second day, while Amy Stiloski (Brookfield/Central) bettered her first day score by two strokes with an 83 to finish 13th overall with a 168. Katie Kautz (Des Plaines, Ill./St. Viator) shot an 82 on Sunday after a 93 on Saturday to place 25th with a 175.

UW-Stevens Point finished with a two-day score of 638 to defeat first-day leader Illinois Wesleyan by two strokes in the 14-team field. The Pointers will host the UW-Stevens Point Invitational next weekend at the Stevens Point Country Club.
