Box Score For the first time in school history, UW-Stevens Point has won three straight women's soccer matches by 1-0 scores as the Pointers edged Carroll in a non-conference match on Saturday at the Pointer Soccer Bowl.
Andrea Peiffer (Mequon/Homestead) became the third different player to score the Pointers' lone tally during the streak as she put in a corner kick by Mary Jean Cornelius (West Bend/West) with 9:34 left in the match.
UW-Stevens Point owned a 21-15 advantage in shots in a physical match that included 25 fouls and two yellow cards. Meredith DeCaluwe (Naperville, IL/Central) had seven saves for the Pointers, who posted their fifth shutout in eight matches this season. UW-Stevens Point is now 5-2-1, while Carroll slipped to 6-2. It was the third meeting between the two schools and the Pointers' third shutout in the series.
