UW-Stevens Point's
Emily Bouche (Dane/Sauk Prairie) advanced to the consolation finals at No. 2 singles and a pair of doubles teams also reached the round as the Pointers placed seventh among seven schools at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's tennis championships Sunday in Madison.
Bouche posted a 6-0, 6-2 win over Cory Salo of UW-Oshkosh for the Pointers' only singles win, but then lost to Katie Ostrowski of UW-River Falls 6-4, 6-0.
The No. 3 doubles team of
Kaitlyn King (Plover/Stevens Point Pacelli) and
Emily Riordan (Appleton/North) collected an 8-6 win over Danielle Huper and Allison Nickel of UW-River Falls for the Pointers' lone doubles win, but then lost to Melissa Fosdick and Jenna Simon of UW-Oshkosh 8-5.
Mashell VerBockel (Appleton/Fox Valley Lutheran) and
Sarah O'Melia (Rhinelander/Rhinelander) also reached the consolation finals at No. 2 doubles, falling to Danielle Farchmin and Lindsey Lubera of UW-Stout in a tiebreaker.
