UW-Stevens Point's recent women's soccer scoring spree continued on Tuesday as the Pointers put up a season-high 10 goals in a shutout win at St. Norbert.
The Pointers have outscored their last three opponents by a combined 24-0 and totaled 19 goals in two matches over a four-day span. The 10-0 victory equaled the score of last year's win over St. Norbert, matching the Green Knights' largest margin of defeat in school history.
UW-Stevens Point again jumped out quickly with a 6-0 halftime lead as the Pointers have not allowed a first half goal in five straight matches, outscoring opponents 18-0 over the span.
Amanda Prawat (Oregon/Oregon), who scored a school-record five goals in Saturday's win over UW-Stout, added two more goals on Tuesday.
Kaylee Weise (Brookfield/East) added two goals and two assists, while
Jennisa Koch (Waupaca/Waupaca) recorded her first career hat trick.
Anna Van Stippen (Kimberly/Kimberly) contributed a goal and three assists.
Prawat scored 1:17 into Tuesday's match and then Van Stippen scored just over two minutes later for an early 2-0 lead. Prawat added a second goal before Koch scored the first of her three goals.
Liz Kidd (Shorewood/Shorewood) and Weise each added goals to end the first half.
Weise scored early in the second half with Van Stippen picking up her second assist of the match on the goal. Koch then scored goals less than seven minutes apart to put the Pointers ahead 9-0 with 30 minutes left.
Katie Waterman (Oregon/Oregon) added a late goal for the final scoring.
The Pointers are now 10-3-1 overall and play at UW-Whitewater on Saturday with a first round home match in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament at stake. The Pointers and Warhawks will likely meet again in the quarterfinals on Tues., Oct. 31 at the site of Saturday's winner.
