UW-Stevens Point held Lawrence without a shot in the first half and cruised past the Vikings for a 5-0 women's soccer victory on Saturday at the Pointer Soccer Bowl.
The Pointers held a 30-2 advantage in shots for the match and got a pair of goals from sophomore
Kaylee Weise (Brookfield/East), who totaled five goals over the past three days after scoring three times Thursday at Carroll. UW-Stevens Point is now 4-1-1 overall for the season.
Amanda Prawat (Oregon/Oregon) scored the first goal of the match at the 22:10 mark with an assist from
Kimie Wiepz (Stoughton/Stoughton). Weise notched her first goal 15 minutes later off a pass from
Alison Regal (Appleton/East).
Weise opened the second half with her second goal just 1:10 into the second half with another assist from Wiepz.
Liz Kidd (Shorewood/Shorewood) made it 4-0 with a goal less than seven minutes later and
Jennisa Koch (Waupaca/Waupaca) finished the scoring with a late goal that was assisted by Regal.
Meredith DeCaluwe (Naperville, IL/Central) and
Pam Luckow (Kaukauna/Kaukauna) split time in goal with Luckow stopping both of Lawrence's second half shots.
The Pointers open conference play on Wednesday at UW-Oshkosh.
