Pointer Women Place Sixth at NCAA Regional

WINNECONNE – The UW-Stevens Point women's cross country team placed sixth today with 223 points at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional held at Lake Breeze Golf Club.


The Pointers were just two points behind fifth place UW-Oshkosh, which means that they will not be considered as an at-large team for the NCAA Championships. Washington University won regional with 41 points, while UW-Eau Claire was second with 87 points. UW-Platteville was third with 99 points and UW-La Crosse was fourth with 113 points.


Hannah Dieringer (Spencer/Spencer) (Sr.-Spencer) was the top Pointer runner as she placed 17th, posting a time of 22:07. Kelly Haen (Kaukauna, WI/Kaukauna) (Fr.-Kaukauna) was 44th with a time of 22:55. Ashley Woest (Abrams/Pulaski) (Jr.-Abrams/Pulaski) finished a second behind her in 45th place. Allison Wolter (Kaukauna/Kaukauna) (So.-Kaukauna) and Kimberly Multerer (West Bend/West Bend West) (Fr.-West Bend/West) also finished within a second of each other at 58th and 59th place respectively.
