After grinding out a tough 3-2 win against UW-Superior last night the UW-Stevens Point women's volleyball team was swept by UW-Eau Claire 3-0 Saturday afternoon in Berg Gym. 

The Blugolds coming off a match in which they took two games from the number three ranked UW-Whitewater played with a lot of confidence in downing the Pointers 30-23 in the first game. 

In the second game the Blugolds used a 12-0 run to run away with the game 30-13.  In the third and final match of the afternoon the Blugolds ended the game on a 9-0 run winning 30-17.

Shelly Maus (Green Bay/Green Bay Southwest) had 12 kills and five blocks for the Pointers and Beth Richter (Green Bay/Preble) contributed seven kills.  Jill Wittmann (Kewaskum/Kewaskum) led the Pointers with 18 assists. Kayla Behnke (Newton/Manitowoc Lincoln) had two aces for the Pointers.
