Maus has Career High in Win

UW-Stevens Point's Shelly Maus (Green Bay/Green Bay Southwest) had a career high 28 kills in a 3-2 victory over UW-Superior at Berg Gym. The Pointers trailed 12-13 in the first game but went on a 9-0 run fueled by five Maus kills, in that span, to take control of the game winning it 30-23.

The Pointers won the first game 30-23 before falling in the second game 24-30. The Pointers responded in the third game winning 30-28 before again falling in the fourth 30-25. In the decisive game five the Pointers edged the Yellow Jackets 15-11. 

Beth Richter (Green Bay/Preble) had 15 kills and Pam Nora had ten for the Pointers. Senior Jill Wittmann (Kewaskum/Kewaskum) led the Pointers with 34 assists. Maus also contributed ten blocks for the Pointers. Gina Guell (Waupun/Waupun) contributed four aces to the Pointers' effort.

The win moved the Pointers to 14-6 overall and 3-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
