Pointers Place Fifth at WIAC Championships

WRIGHTSTOWN – The UW-Stevens Point women's cross country team finished in fifth place with 131 points at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships held today at Lake Breeze Golf Course.


UW-Eau Claire won the championship with 44 points, while UW-Platteville finished second with 49 points. In third place was UW-La Crosse with 77 points and in fourth was UW-Oshkosh with 121 points.
The Pointers were led by Hannah Dieringer (Spencer/Spencer) who placed 10th overall in a time of 22:43.89. Dieringer earned All-WIAC First Team recognition for her finish. Ashley Woest (Abrams/Pulaski) was the only other Pointer to finish in the top 30 as she placed 21st with a time of 23:16.30. Kimberly Multerer (West Bend/West Bend West) was named to the Inaugural All-Sportsmanship team.

 
The Pointers will compete next at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional at the very same course on Saturday, November 10.
