Box Score

On a cold and rainy day in Stevens Point it took a little more than a half for the UW-Stevens Point soccer team to warm up. Unfortunately for St. Norbert they did as the Pointers scored at least five goals for the second consecutive game.

The Pointers threatened early and often against the Green Knights but a few great saves by St. Norbert goalie Mallory Ford and some help from the posts and crossbar the Pointers were held scoreless in the first half.

St. Norbert sophomore Stephanie Gatyas scored the Green Knights first and only goal of the game at 17:40.

In the second it was all UW-Stevens Point. Junior Kaylee Weise (Brookfield/East) opened the scoring for the Pointers when she scored her 14th goal of the season. Weise also had two assists in the game.

Amanda Prawat (Oregon/Oregon) scored her 13th and 14th goals of the season. Mary Jean Cornelius (West Bend/West) came off the bench and scored her second goal in as many games for the Pointers and junior defenseman Meghan Vanden Heuvel (Naperville, IL/Central) capped off the Pointers scoring when she blasted a free kick into the upper corner of the goal to make it 5-1 Pointers.

With the win, head coach Sheila Miech earned her 296 career victory at UW-Stevens Point.
