All five UW-Stevens Point runners finished within 51 seconds of each other as the Pointers placed fourth among a loaded field of nationally-ranked teams at Saturday's UW-Oshkosh Invitational.
UW-Stevens Point, which is ranked 13th in the NCAA Division III, totaled 141 team points in the 22-team field. The top nine finishing teams were all nationally ranked, including second-ranked New York University, which won the meet with 68 points. Sixth-ranked Haverford (Pa.) was second and ninth-ranked North Central (Ill.) was third.
Dominick Meyer (Beloit/Memorial) led the balanced UW-Stevens Point contingent, placing 14th in 24:43.
Cory Towle (Waukesha/South) was 17th in 24:47 and
Phil Richert (Andover, MN/Andover) was 19th in 24:55.
George Carlson (Nekoosa/Nekoosa) placed 40th in 25:23 and
Cory Baumann (Marathon/Marathon) rounded out the team's top five in 25:34.
