Richard had a strong performance in UW-Stevens Point’s 70-59 win over Saint John’s in the team’s season opener on Saturday night. He shot 75.0 percent (9-for-12) from the field and scored a career-high 22 points in 33 minutes of action. The senior was one of four UWSP players in double figures in the game. With the Pointers down by three at halftime, Richard scored on back-to-back possessions and forced a turnover on the defensive end all in the first minute of the second half. He also contributed two assists, four rebounds, three steals and did not commit a turnover.
