Mathes won the 800-meter run this weekend at the Rex Foster Invitational at UW-Whitewater on Sunday, as UW-Stevens Point posted a third-place team finish. The junior set a new outdoor personal record of 2:17.22, finishing over three seconds ahead of the next competitor.
