Dekkers came home from La Crosse with three first places finishes, two individual. In the 1000-yard free he posted a time of 10:28.50, which was about six seconds ahead of the second place finisher. In the 500-yard free Dekkers also took home first place posting a time of 4:57.71, almost seven second ahead of the next best. Finally, in the 400 free relay, Dekkers helped the Pointers to a first place finish over La Crosse as the relay time posted a time of 3:11.85.
