Sean Gerber, sophomore (Stoughton, Wis., / Stoughton), batted .400 over five games this past week to end the 2011 regular season.  Gerber started out the week with a game high eight RBI’s including four from a fifth inning grand slam in a blow-out win over St. Norbert.  On Saturday in the second game of a doubleheader against UW-Stout, Gerber was 3-5 with two singles and a double.  In the third game of the four game series Gerber’s clutch hitting sealed the win and guaranteed UWSP the conference title.  In the bottom of the ninth with the game tied Gerber hit a single to right field to score the winning run in the 3-2 victory.  In the regular season finale Gerber registered another three hits and two more RBI’s in the Pointer win.  Heading into the post-season Gerber is batting .415 and is tied for second on the team with 11 doubles.
