For the second straight week Elyse Nelson, senior (Batavia, Ill., / Batavia), is a UWSP Softball Athlete of the Week.  Batted .545 over eight games this past week.  Nelson started the week with a 3-7 performance at UW-Stout that included a double and two RBI’s.  Nelson’s best performance was in the second game of a doubleheader against Marion University, where she was 3-3 with two doubles, two RBI’s and two runs scored in a 15-5 Pointer win.  Nelson finished the week with 3-4 game with a double and a homerun at conference foe UW-La Crosse.  For the week Nelson collected six doubles to lead the team with ten total.  Nelson also leads the team in RBI’s with 30, homeruns with five and slugging percentage with .692.
