Simmons belted a pair of home runs and collected six RBI as the Pointers swept opening day with wins over Illinois Tech and Carroll. In the game versus IIT, he blasted two two-run home runs and drove in five. He also had a double, two walks and scored twice. Against Carroll, he had an RBI single and scored a run.

Wilson Northey, Men's Hockey
After  a scoreless first period, UWSP found itself shorthanded for the second time in the WIAC Championship game this Saturday. But 31 seconds into the Blugolds man-advantage, Northey found the back of the net, putting the Pointers up 1-0. 

Jared Schrang, Men's Track
Schrang competed at the Wartburg Final Qualifier on Saturday. He had the best finish running a time of 8.25 seconds in the 60-meter hurdle finals, good for fifth. Schrang will be competing at the NCAA Indoor Championship as the 15-seed this weekend (March 11-13).
