Downie finished sixth and eighth individually at the Carroll Classic on Sunday and the UWW Spring Invite on Friday/Saturday, respectively. It is the first back-to-back top-8 finish by a Pointer since Tiffany Boak in 2014. After shooting an opening round 85, she carded a 77 in round two of the UWW Spring Invite to place eighth. Then on Sunday, her round of 82 was good for a tie for sixth.

Sammy Buerger, Softball
Buerger racked up five hits in UWSP’s doubleheader at UWL on Saturday. She posted a career-high four hits in game one with two home runs. She drove in three and scored five runs to aid UWSP in its highest run output of the season. In game two, she recorded a single to extend her hitting streak to four.

Kaitlyn Hess and Grace Henes. Tennis Doubles
Hess and Henes went 2-1 on the week, going 2-0 in their final 2 matches of the week after dropping a 4-8 decision to UW Whitewater. They improved to 6-1 on the season overall, the best mark for all Pointer players. Their 8-6 win over UW-La Crosse accounted for the first team point UWSP has earned versus UWL since 2013. They finished the week with an 8-1 win over UW-Stout, helping the Pointers complete an undefeated (4-0) season on their home courts.

Shannon Nelson, Women's Track and Field
Nelson won the 200 at the Warhawk Invite in lifetime best of 25.41 to put her at #5 in the WIAC and #26 nationally.

Hoepner won the hammer throw in a seasons best of 52.18 meters to move her to the #2 mark in the WIAC and #8 nationally.
