Sara Traxel, Softball
Traxel recorded seven hits and an on-base percentage of .500 over UWSP’s seven games last week. She drew three walks, scored five runs, drove in six and was 2-for-2 in stolen bases. She began the week with two hits and a run scored in Monday’s win at Wisconsin Lutheran. On Thursday, she drew two walks, hit safely in both games and drove in three with two runs scored in a sweep of Mount Mary. On Friday, she had two RBI, scored a run and drew a walk at Saint Benedict before recording a pair of hits with an RBI and runs scored in UWSP sweep at Lakeland on Sunday.
Makenna Tkach, Softball Pitcher
Tkach went 4-1 with a 1.31 earned run average and a complete game. She struck out 22 over 26.2 innings pitched. Tkach earned the victory on Monday at WLC with 5.0 frames with four strikeouts. On Thursday, she won game one with another 5.0 innings, five strikeouts and just one hit allowed to MMU. Then on Sunday, Tkach was the winning pitcher in both games of a sweep at Lakeland. She went all 5.0 innings in the game one victory with two strikeouts. She returned in game two to toss the final 3.0 with another strikeout.
Larkin Hoepner, Women's Track and Field
Hoepner won both the discus throw and hammer throw at the Carroll Invite on Saturday. Her distances of 41.46 meters (136’ 0”) and 49.78 meters (163’ 4”), respectively, are both third-best in the conference.
