University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point Athletics

Momont won the pentathlon at the Whitewater Multi last weekend with a lifetime-best 3594 points, shattering the school record by more than 100 points.  She won the 60-meter hurdles (9.01), high jump (5-04.50, 1.64 meters), shot put (39-04.50, 12.00 meters) and the long jump (17-11.50, 5.47 meters).  Her shot put distance was also a PR.  Momont’s score is the best in the conference and second in the country this season.

Other Nominees

Kellan Schmidt, Women's Basketball
Schmidt tied for the game-high with 14 points in UWSP’s win at UW-River Falls last week.  She made six of her 11 shots from the field.  Schmidt grabbed seven rebounds, blocked two shots and had a game-high three assists in the win.

Shannon Nelson, Women's Track
Nelson placed third in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.91 at the Women Whitewater Invite this weekend. Nelson also placed sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.59, placing the highest for the Pointers in both events.

Mary Kremer, Women's Hockey
Kremer scored the Pointer’s lone goal in the UWSP tie against No. 3 UW-Eau Claire on Friday. On Saturday, Kremer led the Pointers with three shots on goal against Eau Claire.
