Berlin won the 133 bracket at the Pointer Open on Saturday.  He went 4-0 with a tech fall, a fall, a major decision and won the finals by a 4-3 decision over Kyle Burwick of the University of Wisconsin, a four-time state champion in North Dakota and the fourth-ranked recruit in the nation last year.

Matt Urmanski, Football

Urmanski completed 14 of 25 passes for 247 yards with four touchdowns in Saturday’s Spud Bowl win over UW-Eau Claire.  He alternated touchdown passes to fellow senior Jonte Webb and freshman Jeffery Williams with a score in each quarter.  All four touchdown passes came in a span of 37-straight points by UWSP.  His four touchdown passes tied a career-high.
 

Nevada Laabs, Football

Laabs led all players with 24 tackles in Saturday’s win over UW-Eau Claire. He had 12 solo tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss.
 

Donovan Lucas, Football

Lucas returned a kick for a touchdown for the second time in as many games.  In Saturday’s win over UW-Eau Claire, he returned a free kick following a safety 65 yards for a touchdown to put UWSP up 30-6 in an eventual 40-12 victory.  He totaled 122 yards on three returns and had an interception.
 

Luke McElhenie, Men's Hockey

McElhenie scored a goal in each game and totaled three points on the weekend against No. 4 St. Norbert.  On Friday, he netted a shorthanded goal in the second period to put UWSP in front, 2-0.  On Saturday, he scored the game-winner on a penalty shot in the third period to break a 1-1 tie.  Later in the third, he assisted on an insurance goal as the Pointers snapped SNC’s 43-game home unbeaten streak with a 3-1 victory.
 

Payton Kilian, Swimming and Diving

Kilian won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:47.83, edging out four teammates by less than a second.  He also swam the final leg of the winning 200-yard medley relay team that finished in 1:37.42, more than a second faster than the runner-up from Gustavus.  Kilian also swam the second leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay team that came in second with a time of 3:13.88.
 

Evan Plummer, Jr., Swimming and Diving

Plummer won the three-meter dive on Saturday with a score of 264.80, just three points ahead of the runner-up.  He was also UWSP’s top finisher in the one-meter dive with a score of 231.00, good for third.
