Barnes threw two no-hitters in Florida last week to close out the spring break trip. Her first no-no of the week was against Wesleyan (Conn.) on Monday. She struck out two and issues two walks in the five-inning, 8-0 shutout. Her second no-hitter of the week was on Thursday over St. Lawrence. She struck out six with just one walk and a hit batter in the five-inning victory. For the week, she went 3-0 and struck out 15 in 28.0 innings pitched.

Maddie Candre: Candre hit .440 with two doubles and two triples while hitting safely in all eight games last week. In UWSP’s win over Wesleyan, she hit a triple, had two hits, a stolen base and scored twice. She had two more hits, drew a walk and stole another base against Hope on Tuesday with an RBI. On Wednesday, she drove in two, hit a triple, scored twice and stole a base in the win over St. Lawrence. Later in the day, she doubled, drew a walk, drove in a run and scored a run against Lawrence. On Friday, she drove in four runs, had two hits, including a double, and stole a base in a win over Plattsburgh State. She totaled 11 hits, seven runs scored, went 4-for-4 in stolen base attempts and had a slugging percentage of .680.
Payton Nelson: Nelson hit .526 with six RBI, six runs scored and six extra-base hits over UWSP’s five games last week. He began the week with a 3-for-4 outing, including a double, a walk and a steal, with two runs scored and two RBI against Farmingdale State. He had three more hits in each game of the doubleheader sweep of MCLA. He drove in four and scored four times in the twin bill with three doubles, two steals and four runs scored. He also drew a walk and hit a double against Anderson.
